Hello and welcome to The Resolution Room!
My name is Monique Ngo-Bonnici. I am currently a mediator at Signature Resolution and was formerly the Chair of Winston and Strawn’s Los Angeles and Silicon Valley Labor and Employment practice groups. I have over 17 years of experience resolving disputes, with a focus on those in the area of labor and employment law. As a mediator, I specialize in resolving wage and hour class, collective, and representative actions, as well as claims involving discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, retaliation, violation of non-compete agreements, and misappropriation of trade secrets.
Throughout my career, I have settled hundreds of cases, and my expertise in these complex areas of law has made me a sought-after mediator by lawyers on both the plaintiff and defense sides. In addition, my experience as a former employee and business owner gives me a unique perspective when it comes to seeing both sides of a dispute.
The Resolution Room is a place where I write about my experiences and learnings in resolving complex cases in the field in order to try and help make an effective mediation process more accessible to everyone. I also am working on a new podcast that will launch in May, where I bring on lawyers, business owners, and other parties to share their experiences in the dispute resolution process and to discuss topics that may be useful in helping you resolve your dispute.
I believe that the best way to resolve disputes is through collaboration and open communication. Unlike litigation, which can be a long, costly, and adversarial process, mediation allows the parties to work together to find a solution that works for everyone. By providing a neutral space for negotiations, I help parties identify their interests, and work towards a mutually beneficial solution.
In my future posts, I plan to share my experiences and insights on a range of topics, including strategies for effective mediation, how to avoid common mistakes in mediation, the role of mediation in resolving labor and employment disputes, and much more. I plan on posting once a week, so be sure to subscribe to The Resolution Room to stay up to date on the latest posts.
Thank you for taking the time to read my first post. I look forward to sharing more with you in the future.
Best regards,
Monique Ngo-Bonnici
